If the retractable gate starts moving unevenly, leaning to one side, or shaking during operation, the problem is usually related to the guide track, motor synchronization, or wheel assembly.

• Track deformation or uneven ground:
  Check whether the guide track is level and whether any section has been bent or displaced. Minor unevenness can be corrected by adjusting the track or using suitable leveling pads. Track bolts should also be checked regularly for looseness.
• Motors running out of sync:
  If one side moves faster than the other, check the controller settings, power supply, and motor drive system. Resetting the controller or adjusting the motor synchronization may solve the problem.
• Worn or blocked wheels:
  Stones, dirt, worn bearings, or insufficient lubrication can cause the gate to move unevenly or make abnormal noises. Keep the running area clean and inspect and lubricate the wheels regularly.

• Clean the running area regularly:
  Remove sand, stones, leaves, and other debris from the track or wheel path about once a week to prevent wheel jamming and uneven movement.
• Clean the gate body:
  Wash off dust and dirt with clean water and wipe the surface when necessary to maintain the appearance of the aluminum alloy or stainless steel structure. Avoid directing high-pressure water at the motor, control box, wiring, sensors, or other electrical components.
• Keep electrical components dry:
  Wipe the motor housing and control box with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not allow water to enter electrical parts.
• Lubricate moving parts regularly:
  Check and lubricate the wheels, bearings, chains, and retractable linkage approximately once a month to reduce friction, noise, and premature wear.
• Check the drive system:
  Periodically inspect the motor, gearbox, fasteners, and transmission components. Tighten loose parts and apply suitable lubricant when required.
• Use the correct lubricant:
  Use lubricant recommended for automatic retractable gates or outdoor mechanical components. Avoid excessive oil, as it can attract dust and dirt.

For gates with frequent daily use, we recommend carrying out a more complete inspection every 3–6 months, including the motor, wheels, control system, safety sensors, and structural connections.

If the retractable security gate moves slowly, shakes, makes unusual noises, or stops during operation, start by checking the mechanical parts before inspecting the electrical system.

• Clean the track or running path:
  Remove stones, sand, leaves, and other debris that may block the wheels or cause excessive friction.
• Lubricate moving parts:
  Apply suitable lubricant to the wheels, bearings, chains, and linkage joints if the gate becomes noisy or moves unevenly. Avoid excessive oil, as it can attract dust and dirt.
• Check the wheels and fasteners:
  Inspect the running wheels for wear or damage and make sure they rotate smoothly. Tighten any loose bolts or connections on the retractable structure.
• Check the track and ground level:
  If the gate moves sideways or shakes, inspect the guide track and installation surface for deformation or unevenness.
• Check the power supply:
  If the gate does not move, confirm that the power supply, wiring, plugs, and control system are working properly.
• Check the motor:
  If the motor makes noise but the gate does not move, stop operation and allow the motor to cool. Persistent overheating or abnormal motor noise should be inspected by a qualified technician.
• Check the remote controller:
  Replace the remote battery first. If the gate still does not respond, test another control method such as the mobile app or manual control to determine whether the issue is related to the remote controller.

For better corrosion resistance, material selection and surface treatment are very important.

• Aluminum alloy is a good choice for outdoor retractable gates because it does not develop red rust like ordinary steel and naturally forms a protective oxide layer.
• If you prefer stainless steel, we recommend 304 stainless steel for better corrosion resistance, especially in humid or outdoor environments.
• For a more economical option, 201 stainless steel with a powder-coated or baked-paint finish can provide additional surface protection and improve rust resistance.

For coastal, high-humidity, or high-salt environments, 304 stainless steel or aluminum alloy is generally the better choice. Regular cleaning and repairing any damaged coating can also help extend the service life of the gate.
